WE CHANGE LIVES

MENTORING MATTERS
Did you know that one hour a week can change the course of a young person’s life? Sometimes, having someone to talk to who listens and cares can make all the difference. Many young people simply need a positive role model to help them feel seen, heard, and supported.

PAVING THE WAY TO SUCCESS
We believe every child has the right to a bright future. With the guidance and support of a mentor, young people can gain the confidence to achieve more. They can grow up to earn higher incomes, have healthier relationships, and give more contributions to their communities as they grow up and pay it forward.

THE CONFIDENCE TO ACHIEVE MORE
Our mentors support and encourage young people, offering guidance, consistency, and a safe, nonjudgmental space. They act as champions, open doors to new experiences and opportunities, and help youth build confidence and meaningful connections.

HOW DO WE DO IT
Mentorship is a two-way, learning and development partnership that helps young people achieve their potential.
Young people’s brains are still developing. Mentoring supports that process through back-and-forth interaction of a healthy supportive relationship.
Mentoring is an important way to give youth experience they need to developing into healthy young adults who can overcome life’s adversities.

SUPPORT
We have a comprehensive infrastructure for supporting mentorship relationships: detailed legal screening of mentors to ensure child safety; a broad network of professional staff supporting families and volunteers; systems for selecting, approving and supporting volunteers; referring clients to other agencies and supports in our community.
