Make a Big Difference with Just a Few Hours a Week
With just a small commitment of a couple of hours each week, you can make a lasting impact in the life of a child or youth in Prince Albert. Many young people in our community are waiting to be matched with a caring mentor. A mentor is a friend and someone to spend a little bit of time with.
Once you’ve completed our enrollment process, we’ll provide training and carefully match you with a young person who shares your interests. From there, you and your mentee can decide when to meet and what to do, whether it’s biking, hiking, cooking, gaming, watching movies, or trying something completely new! Kids are eager to learn, explore, and connect, and your time together can be full of fun and discovery.
Being a mentor means more than just spending time together—it’s an opportunity to model positive behaviours and support a child in developing confidence, new skills, and a stronger sense of self. As a mentor, you’ll also gain a fresh perspective and a deeper appreciation for the world through a young person’s eyes.

“I have been a Big Brother for more than 20 years. I originally joined with a plan of being a role model to a young person. I have always benefitted greatly from this organization. It has taught me how to better interact with youth and share in their joys and challenges as they grow up. “

“It has been amazing to see how far simply spending a few hours once a week with a young person can go. I have enjoyed watching my mentee grow, find their voice, establish their comfort levels in public, develop their self esteem, and discover their interests”
