PFPS: A Group Mentoring Program about Post Secondary Education

This 10 week group program helps high school students prepare for post-secondary education by matching them with post-secondary mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight.

Through weekly sessions on campus life, financial literacy, stress management, and academic readiness, mentees gain confidence and support as they plan for their future.

Help take the fear out of the unknown and inspire youth to envision themselves beyond high school.

What Post Secondary Student Volunteers say about PFPS:

“I enjoyed the time being with everyone and participating in activities where my knowledge can be shared and I could learn from the mentees. I am definitely interested in participating in this program again.”

“It was rewarding connecting with the mentees and being able to answer questions I would’ve liked to have the answers to at their age.”

“Mentoring has taught me how to be patient and understanding and having my own mentors be leaders and/or people I want to be just like inspires me to go out of my comfort zone and apply what they do in my life. It has changed me and made me get a better idea of what I want my career to be like.”

“Getting along with other mentors was very meaningful to me! It’s a bit challenging to make new friends or talk to classmates in general when the community feels reserved. Having such a program helped me become close with other mentors.”

“I enjoyed seeing the youth come back each week and genuinely enjoy being there. They were always excited to participate and try new activities, which made the experience really rewarding.”
