Diners in Prince Albert showed great support during PA Poutine Week 2024 for Big Brothers Big Sisters youth mentoring programs. 1440 poutines were sold across the city during the event with $4 from each one helping to create life-changing mentoring relationships!

It was an amazing race this year for the trophies but our reigning champion remains undefeated! The Knotty Pine Bistro had the most votes by Poutine Pics shared on social media and wins the Poutine Choice Award. This year it was a very close race with several of the restaurants in the lead at various times, but the Knotty Pine gave it their all during the home stretch and pulled into the lead on the last day!

The Knotty Pine Bistro is also the 2024 Gravy Bowl Champion for selling the most poutine! They sold 347 poutines which owner Barb Lychak says “was a lot of work but we are happy to give back to community for such a great cause”.  Her staff all worked hard together to remain the champs and will enjoy an escape room package for eight people at Prince Albert Xscapes.

Big Brothers Big Sisters will use the funds raised to recruit, train and support volunteers to mentor youth in the community who face adversities. Development Coordinator, Natasha Thomson, says, “All the restaurants who participated are winners for helping us support youth who need some guidance and we are so grateful for their participation”.

The other restaurants who took part were: Lulu’s Kitchen who sold 274 poutines, MR MIKES StreakhouseCasual who sold 221 poutines, Original Joe’s who sold 151 poutines, Boston Pizza who sold 149 poutines, Between the Buns who sold 97 poutines, Ricky’s All Day Grill who sold 85 poutines, Rock & Iron who sold 75 poutines and Shananigans Bistro Coffee & Dessert Bar who sold 41 poutines.
